Archbishop challenges West on poverty

By Andrew Cawthorne

Dec 25, 2004

LONDON (Reuters) - The leader of the world's 70 million Anglican Christians, Archbishop Rowan Williams, has taken Western nations to task for neglecting global poverty and "massaging" the threat of terrorism.

Never shy of controversy, Williams used his Christmas Day sermon on Saturday to lambast the rich world for failing to make good progress on the U.N. Millennium development goals.

The Lord that Rowan claims to represent - says:

1Cr 13:3 Though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

As far as "massaging the threat of terrorism" - this is the command from the Lord that Rowan claims to represent:

Zec 8:16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates.

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour.

Jhn 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

With 70 million followers - why isn't Rowan speaking that which the Lord he claims to represent commands of him? [Eternal Life is at stake]

Anyone can easily say that they are a Christian - but...

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. [no Life]

Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

"The likelihood of a reduction by half of people living in abject poverty by the year 2015 is not noticeably greater than it was four years ago," he said in reference to one of the key goals during his address at Canterbury Cathedral.

"Some developed nations appear deeply indifferent to the goals agreed," he added.

U.N. Watch reported on Feb 9, 2000:

The UN listed 45 states that have temporarily lost their right to vote in the General Assembly because they owe more than two years? worth of dues. Another seven states, equally overdue with their payments, were allowed to retain their vote. [The US pays 25% - more than all others combined]

That so many are in arrears suggests that Member States, while willing to participate in the UN, are not taking their obligations seriously. They seem to want to benefit from the world forum while contributing little in resources to sustain it.

Back to Rowan:

The terrorism threat was a legitimate concern, but was being manipulated by some and had helped sideline poverty issues, Williams argued. [Such as the 'Oil for Food' program? the program that was credited with preventing widespread starvation? [Corruption on an unprecedented scale that was revealed - because of the war]

"It is all too easy to be more interested in other matters -- not least the profound anxieties about security that are at the moment so pervasive, massaged by various forces in our public life in the West," he said, without elaborating.

How should Rowan respond to these?

004.101 When ye travel through the earth, there is no blame on you if ye shorten your prayers, for fear the Unbelievers May attack you: For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies.

009.004 (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term.

009.005 But when the forbidden months are past [when the 'treaties' expire}  then fight and slay the Pagans ''''wherever'''' ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war. {That is incitement to commit murder on a worldwide scale]

009.039 Unless ye go forth, He will punish you

047.004 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers [Includes ALL who believe in the Son of God} 009.030 ] (in fight), smite at their necks. [Behead them]

Being a leader of a major religion - it is Rowan's DUTY [more so than others] to address such teachings! [He made it his business]

Williams urged Britain to use its leadership of the G8 group of industrialised nations in 2005 to start a new war on poverty.

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes {not money]  into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house [a higher understanding], and prove Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Jam 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

"ONLY AGENDA IS FEAR"

He noted the plethora of ideas floated by government figures and others to reduce debt, bring down medicine prices, promote grassroots credit schemes, and make trade rules fairer.

"Despite the vision of some in the political world and beyond, the will to take this forward seems to be in short supply," he said, urging Christians to display "generous anger".

Where was that same anger while Saddam and his regime were filling hundreds of mass graves?

One of the most high-profile British critics of the Iraq war, the archbishop reminded his listeners of a quote in a recent TV documentary that argued the United States and Britain had deliberately played up security fears to bolster their power.

Isa 28:19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

Is the Lord that Rowan claims to represent - a liar?

"When a society believes in nothing, the only agenda is fear," he said, quoting the controversial BBC programme The Power of Nightmares.

What is to be expected "When a society believes in"}}}}  fight and slay the Pagans ''''wherever'''' ye find them 009.005  {Isn't such a teaching a great contributor to poverty?] For sure - it is murder!

This is Rowan's business - because he made it his business - and he refuses to address it!

He accepted, however, that serious threats existed.

"No one could or would deny that we face exceptional levels of insecurity and serious problems in relation to an unpredictable and widely diffused network of agencies whose goals are slaughter and disruption," he said.

"It is not a mistake to be concerned about terror; we have seen enough this last year, in Iraq and Ossetia, of the nauseating and conscienceless brutality that is around."

047.004 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers [Includes ALL who believe in the Son of God} 009.030 ] (in fight), smite at their necks. [Behead them]

Rowan refuses to address the actual cause.

2Cr 10:4 The weapons [Scriptures] of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

Williams' message followed a searing Christmas Eve address by Britain's leading Roman Catholic, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor. He asked why so much money was being spent on conflict in the Middle East rather than global poverty.

Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

"What a terrible thing it is that billions -- and I mean billions of pounds -- are being spent on war in the Middle East which could have been spent bringing people out of dire poverty and malnourishment and disease," he said. [Yes - it is a shame - that tyrants brutalize the poor - often causing major wars]

Saddam robbed and slaughtered his own people. The majority of Iraqis do not want Saddam back in power.

Mat 25:33 He shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Mat 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Mat 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Mat 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. {Second death  [There was a death that reigned already} Rom 5:14 ]

Why isn't Rowan happy that the Iraqi people are no longer being taken advantage of? [The ONLY ones that Rowan speaks for - are the '''insurgents''' Surely - they agree]

The Lord that Rowan claims to be honoring - said NO to Palestine:

Exd 15:14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.  Song of Moses - the first author of the Bible.  The saints 'sing' this song}  Rev 15:3 [Why isn't Rowan 'singing' it?]

Psa 137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be [the Avenger], that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

Isa 14:31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.  [If you support Palestine - then you are Palestine]

Luk 11:23 He that is not with Me is against Me

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour.

With the voice that Rowan has in this world - with 70 million followers [along with the media] why isn't Rowan speaking these Truths? as is commanded of him? {by the Lord that he says he represents?]

Claiming to be a Christian and actually being one - are two completely different acts.

1Ti 5:8 If any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house [first], he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

The name Israel [which is the heritage of the Lord that Rowan claims to represent] is being attacked by Palestine. Palestine denies the Son of God.

Mar 13:14 When ye shall see the abomination of desolation {without life - "He that hath the Son hath life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" - Palestine denies the Son] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, [The name Israel is His heritage] (let him that readeth [The Word] understand)

Mat 24:21 Then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
