Presbyterians to divest from Israel

July 17, 2004

By an overwhelming vote of its general assembly, the Presbyterian Church USA, boasting 3 million members, is siding with Palestinian Arabs and against Israel, choosing to divest from the Jewish state as it did only with apartheid South Africa.

With the decision, approved in a 431-62 vote at the 216th annual general assembly of the PCUSA, the denomination is believed to be the largest organization or institution to join the divestment campaign against Israel. It is the first Christian denomination to do so.

In 2001, the combined value of the church's foundation and pension fund was estimated at $7 billion.

Leaders of the liberal mainline Protestant church approved several other anti-Israel resolutions at their gathering in Richmond, Va., and also refused to halt funding for "messianic congregations" that target Jews for conversion.

The Presbyterian resolutions came just as Jewish organizations were hailing the results of a historic international interfaith meeting in Buenos Aires last week, where Roman Catholic officials for the first time signed on to a document equating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.

The assembly set the stage for the church to divest itself from companies that receive $1 million dollars or more in profits per year from investments in Israel or have invested $1 million dollars or more in Israel.

1Ti 6:10 The love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

The Palestinians provoke and murder....for a state that the Lord of the Bible said no to, beginning with the song of Moses...which the saints do sing.

In a news release, the PCUSA liaison to the Middle East, Rev. Victor Makari, was quoted as saying: "If nothing else seems to have changed the policy of Israel toward Palestinians, we need to send a clear and strong message."

The church statement noted that "divestment is one of the strategies that U.S. churches used in the 1970s and '80s in a successful campaign to end apartheid in South Africa."

Look at the bloodshed taking place there now. Many who had fled from there are angry with the U.S. Is it any wonder?

The Presbyterian 'church' is violating the laws of the New Testament.

Gal 3:23 Before faith came [a new 'faith'], we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Gal 3:25 But after that faith [the New Covenant] is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

1Jo 2:27  Ye need not that any man teach you.

Jhn 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, [if the Word of God abides within you] and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.   [where Two or Three are gathered in His Name]

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. [which is Life]

Isa 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail.

Psa 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

SEE} True Christian

Psa 119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts [Word of God] with my whole heart.

Psa 109:3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. [There is no Holy One of Palestine]

Mat 15:14 They be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. [the pit]

Joe 3:4 Yea, and what have ye to do with Me? [The Lord of hosts] O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine?

Isa 14:31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

Jhn 5:24 Verily, verily, I [Jesus] say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.  [If the Lord said NO to Palestine, and you still support it, how can you say you have heard Him? Woe unto the Presbyterian body]

Luk 11:23 He that is not with me [Jesus] is against me: and he that gathereth not with me [in the Resurrection of Life] scattereth.

It is the Word of God that makes a person a Christian...and nothing else:

2Jo 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. Palestine denies the Son of God!  1Cr 10:21 Ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. You cannot be friends with those who call the Son of God an abomination, and be friends with the Son also.

Psa 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The name Israel came from no other, but the mouth of God.  The Palestinians [not Arabs mind you....because the name Palestine was already condemned] demand the total destruction of Israel. They are never going to stop this fight. This is the test for this whole world.  This is the purpose of the whole earth....for Judgment.

Isa 14:26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

There is no Holy One of Palestine; the whole Presbyterian body has exposed for all to see, that the Word of God does not abide in them. They are fanning the flames of bloodshed, by supporting the purpose of the suicide/homicide bombers.

Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, [Palestine denies the Son of God.  Denying the Son is desolation!] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, [Because the Lord said no to Palestine] (let him that readeth [the Word of God] understand,)

Mat 24:21 Then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. This is a prophecy that has already begun to unfold:

Isa 28:19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report. [Only a small remnant will survive...because the Lord will shorten the days for them]

It is vexation, to understand the magnitude of the amount of injustices and slaughter that is about to take place [according to the Word]

Psa 119:9  Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. [The Lord that the Presbyterians claim -- said NO to Palestine, who adamantly denies the Son of God, and has sworn itself to the destruction of Israel, the heritage of God]

How can the Presbyterians call themselves Christians?

Luk 6:46 Why call ye me [Jesus], Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

We are commanded to let our 'light' [the 'light' he gave us] 'shine'  by speaking it, so that all can benefit.

Palestine denies the Son of God.  How is it, the Presbyterians are willing to defend that?  This is NOT about nationalities.

Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Who gave the Arabs a condemned name? They surely didn't get it from the Koran.  That's what the Presbyterian body should be concerned about.  The Truth will stop the bloodshed....NOT money.
