Aziz argues the Koran with Muslim judge
July 16 The Truth about the Koran from a True Muslim: BALI bombing field commander Abdul Aziz was incensed by a Muslim judge's suggestion yesterday that Islam and its holy book the Koran had never advocated killings or deaths in the name of religion. Giving evidence in his own defence at his terrorism trial, the 33-year-old, Aziz (aka Imam Samudra) engaged in a tense exchange with the sole Muslim judge on the five-judge panel, who questioned him about Islamic teachings. A clearly annoyed Aziz pointed at the judge and raised his voice to emphasise his point: "More than 28 verses in the Koran and 28 letters mention a war." But Judge Supratman reminded Aziz he should act properly in court. Earlier, Aziz had reprimanded the judge, telling him it was improper to quote only part of a Koran verse referring to tolerance. [a common practice] He told the court Islam taught about peace and love, about good character and honesty but if one part of the Muslim body was in the pain so too was the rest. He said he would only forgive Kafir (infidels) if they were sorry for the hundreds of thousands of Muslims slaughtered around the world. Judge Supratman interrupted, telling him the Bule (westerners) he saw in the Sari nightclub were not involved in any slaughter of Muslims in Afghanistan. Aziz claimed that before the October 12 Bali bombing, which killed 202 people, he had watched the Sari nightclub and what he had seen was "disgusting" – drunk westerners engaging in "maksiat" or sinful behaviour. Reminded by Judge Supratman that "our Muslim brothers" had worked there to make money for their families and that Muslims had died, burnt in their cars, Aziz claimed the death of Muslims was an "error" which Allah would forgive. Quoting a verse of the Koran which advocated respect for other religions, Judge Arif Supratman suggested to Aziz that "Allah never ordered any people to be killed".
Terrorism is against the will of God: Council of Islamic Scholars Leading clerics in Saudi Arabia have issued a religious ruling, or fatwa, that acts of terrorism by Islamic extremists are serious criminals acts which are against the will of God. As the BBC reports, the ruling confronts the Islamic doctrine of jihad, which has been used by extremists to justify their attacks. In a statement, the Council of Islamic Scholars called acts of sabotage, like bombings and murder, dangerous crimes. It said such actions were against Islamic or Sharia law and said people who claimed these actions were a form of Jihad, or Holy Struggle, were misguided and ignorant.
It is the ''leading clerics'' who are "misguided and ignorant" {that... or they are knowingly..... absolute liars! 004.095 Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward.002.216 Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing [war] which is good for you, and that ye love a thing [Peace] which is bad for you?
